Our Volunteers
We invite volunteers to join us at Ricky’s Drift for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 1 month.
We offer accommodation and vegan food in exchange for 5 hours of work a day, Monday to Friday, and a few hours of help on weekends with watching the gardens for baboon invasions. The rest of your weekends are free to explore the farm and nearby town or just relax and enjoy the serenity.
We ask for a contribution of R70 per day or R500 a week which includes transport to and from the nearest bus station on arrival and when leaving and 3 meals a day.
There are plenty of different types of jobs to do on the farm: animal care, (horses, donkeys, pigs and chickens), food production, (gardening, harvesting, preserving and cooking group meals), building, painting, community outreach and helping with our accommodation (cleaning and welcoming guests).
We would love volunteers to teach us about their passions, share their stories and contribute their own ideas to enhance our space.

I learned a lot about gardening and it was a pleasure to cook with all the food from the garden.
Within four weeks full off amazing experiences the farm became such a special part of me.
I liked it so much that I decided to stay for 6 weeks and I would always go back if I had the opportunity.
